The Salomon MTN Summit Pro Women's Ski Boots take cues from its twin brother, the men's version MTN Summit. Designed for ladies that yearn for long approaches to big objectives, these boots are light for long hours spent in the skin track, while stout enough to handle the burliest descents. Weighing in at 1020 grams per boot, they certainly will give you extra energy for breaking trail while conserving energy for the ski down. Equipped with Salomon’s Surelock Skiwalk mechanism, in walk mode, the cuff detaches from the spine, allowing for lots of range of motion. With its walk mechanism in ski mode, the cuff attaches to the spine, which is bolted to the lower shell. A flick of a lever makes it easy to engage either mode, even with gloves or mittens on. The liner of the boot is heat moldable and is billed as a custom for Tour Light liner, which has impressive foam density in the heel and ankle pocket with two straps for easy entry. It all closes tightly with a 6-point BOA closure system with a “touring belt” (A flexible elastic/rubber piece over the ankle) that’s adjusted via the BOA closure system across the ankle/instep area of the boot. Above the BOA is a 45-millimeter-wide Velcro strap that is closed via an oversized buckle.
